    @starraider113 Yeah…I know…. and Yeah…I know.
Read James Madison on “Change” versus reform. The tweeks I mention are reforms which don’t destroy the existing system and are easily reversable as we all know, while what is being proposed is irrevocable Change to the way our healthcare is delivered. Imagine standing in line at the Division of Motor Vehicle to see your Dr. and thank the current Executive and Lesislative branches for that…and Yeah I know!
    Hopefully, common sense will out.

Oh I know. I was being sarcastic. Thats why I was saying if we did those two things the government wouldnt be able to control our lives(referring to people who want a nanny state). I want government out. Its funny how Barry wont even acknowledge the two examples you listed.

  5. wideawake123 on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

The planet where Tort Reform sets limits( fairly high ones) on judgements against hospitals and Drs. which lowers operating costs(due to high Ins. premiums) for healthcare providers thus lowering cost to patients. Also on my planet people are allowed to shop nationally for Health Ins. just as they can for Every Other Ins. They Buy creating free market competition for consumer $s. On My Planet these tweeks lower costs and wont destroy the existing system before we know whether or not they work.

I say way to go AARP! Not everybody has health insurance and one major illness or accident can bankrupt a family in a heartbeat.

  8. vrghiks on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

Why would AARP endorse a socialist health industry? The stink is getting stronger everytime this man’s mouth
    opens.Wake up America!

  9. Standup091 on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

    AMA “VESTED INTEREST”????

AMA’s priority throughout the healthcare debate has been to “FIX” the Medicare payment formula that threatens to chop Medicare reimbursement of doctors by 21% this year and more later on.

NOW…. with the current $245 BILLION “DOC FIX” legislation “coupled” with H.R. 3962, doctors will see…

    their “payment schedules” INCREASE!

    And with the Democrat’s MANDATES…
the “number of patients” will INCREASE… bringing in MORE BUSINESS to their practices!

  12. bigtex501 on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

    AARP “VESTED INTEREST”
    Part I

Last year, AARP collected $222 MILLION IN ROYALTIES from United Healthcare which is….
the SECOND LARGEST insurance firm BOASTING profits in 2008 of…
$75.4 BILLION, which provides most of the health insurance marketed under…
    the AARP brand!
That figure is almost as much as AARP collected in dues from its members!

  13. bigtex501 on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

    AARP “VESTED INTEREST”
    Part II

Under the “Public Plan”…. Insurance giants like United, Aetna, WellPoint, & Cigna will be the biggest winners in reform legislation that will REQUIRE every American to carry insurance.
Millions of people who now have NO coverage will be ***MANDATED*** to buy policies from these very companies…..
And that, of course, means BILLIONS IN NEW PROFITS.
Meanwhile.. should the “Public Option” pass..
AARP stands to make MILLIONS MORE in “royalties” from UNITED!

  14. starraider113 on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

Allow people to buy health insurance out of state?
    Tort reform?
What planet do you live on?
If we did those things the government wouldnt be able to control every aspect of our lives and decide what cheapest poor quality care is best for us. The sad things is that once this goes through and is put in place for a while, all of these people who support it will be gone with tails in between their legs while we say, “see I told you so”.

  15. starraider113 on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

If you want to lower your premiums get rid of govt mandates, get rid of illegals, reform lawsuits and let the companies compete nationally. This whole thing is just a power grab for poor quality care and more control over the lives of people. Once this starts you start to see the system become unraveled and once that happens there is no going back.

Actuall the head of AARP is a far left liberal. The majority of people who belong to AARP are conservitive. AARP will loose alot of members but will pocket Government money for their endorcement.

you are right, it’s all about money. Money we don’t have. Money the nation don’t have. So if we don’t have the money, we do without. i see your parent fail to teach you that growing up.
As well as you missed the fact Obam has said he want America to cut back on the amount of money being spent on healthcare. Not how much you pay for you inc. But healthcare in general.

  18. nafnaf0 on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

“(Premium Rate) such rate shall not vary by health status related factors, gender, class of business, claims experience, or any other factor not described in paragraph”

Its about becoming homeless and unemployed because you get sick. How does a homeless sick unemployeed person contribute to society?

  20. BAHB420 on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

Its not about just living, its about quality of life. Living with daily pain because you cannot afford surgery.

It seems you are more concerned about money than human decentcy so perhaps you will see value in the fact that a healthy citizen is a productive citizen.

  21. MrSTANDFORAMERICA on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

BAHB420 do you know how many Americans die with healthcare every year.
A total of 2,426,264 resident deaths were registered in the United States. From a list of 15 different types of death.
People with plans that put yours to shame.
And guess what, not one could have been saved with Obamacare. Nope not one. Obama is just a president, not Jesus.

  22. MrSTANDFORAMERICA on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

“65% of the country supports a public option”

That depends on the b/s internet poll you go by.
We took one of those unofficial polls at a union meeting one night. asked, Who wants public option”?
Just about everyone raised their hand.
then asked, “who wants a government ran insurance company we get our insurance from”?
No one raised their hand. problem is no one really knows what public options means.
Everyone that night thought it means free healthcare without being taxed.

  23. MrSTANDFORAMERICA on November 6th, 2009 5:46 pm

that’s what I though. All you have is what what, “James Sunshine is a College freshman from Boca Raton, Fla” that wrote what he THINKS and not knows in a blog.

blogs are like ass holes, “everyone has one and they all stink”.

give me something from a (.)gov, not from emorywheel(.)com

other wise it’s just a bunch of made up b/s by college kids.
