I dont appreciate your irony emirapper.

Get a life and do not say anything if you dont have anything important to say

come on stemcellscientist ! isnt it much more fun to argue about life and death than it is to think about real issues like how these stem cells actually work?

the T cells that are attacking the myelin. It will be interesting to see how much of the therapeutic effect is caused by the suppression of inflammation versus how much of it is caused by actually regrowing new cells.

I propose some one to do experimetns in this area

The cellmedicine group published a paper on the use of mesenchymal stem cells for duchenne’s muscular dystrophy based on the ability of the cells to stop or slow down the degenerative process associated with mutated dna in the muscle. This seems to be a common theme.

Stem cells make new organs or at least repair cells from the damaged organs and they also suppress the destruction caused by inflammation.

Inflammation is what causes multiple sclerosis or at least the T cells that are at

    I support adult stem cells.

Why do you come here to talk about killing life when the stem cells in Costa Rica don’t use embryonic stem cells… only ADULT STEM CELLS. Are you wanting us to applaud you for having the moral values to be against the embryonic when that isn’t even the topic here? Please take your judgments to another place as people like me with M.S. come here to find out more about ADULT stem cells.. not to read about your principles.

@fatherdumitruichim you are deranged and have no business offering your unsolicited “opinions” we live in the 21st century “father”

  11. fatherdumitruichim on December 2nd, 2009 5:51 pm

I stand by my point that embryonic stem cells = killing life.

In vitro fertilization = killing life

As a Christian we have to stand by these morals and principles.

  12. angelafreedman21 on December 2nd, 2009 5:51 pm

I agree, what kind of person calls himself “father” anyways? this is absurd that people would make these types of religious comments on a website like this one.

  13. Sophiemoone99 on December 2nd, 2009 5:51 pm

I am angry to see people talking againg about stem cells being abortion or taking a live. This is idiotic and very ignorant. How can you be against embryonic stem cells but also support in vitro fertilization? This is one of the hypocrizy that i have not understood. Both procedures involve “killing” embryos. or eggs that have been fertilized. So if this is the case and you throw them out anyways why not put them to soem good use?

Shame on you and everyone who is against research !

  14. fatherdumitruichim on December 2nd, 2009 5:51 pm

Nice to see so many patients talking about their experiences. This is good support that adult stem cells are useful for people today and that embryonic stem cells are a dream of the future that we all know will only take money and not cause any successes. In addition to taking life.
